Summer Ski Camp Starts Aug. 1st Hello DJSR Racers and Parents, We are super stoked about next week's summer slalom ski camp at Big Snow! We have a fantastic group of alpine racers attending from NJ, PA, NY, MA, VT, NH, ME, and Canada; plus an exceptional group of race coaches from over a dozen different race clubs and high schools on the East Coast. Each day of our camp is structured with a progressive training plan, ending the last day with a fun dual slalom challenge and a farewell ceremony. Our outstanding 3 to 1 athlete-to-coach ratio is a winning formula for personalized attention and significant skill improvement. Racers will be assigned to a team with designated race coaches, and are encouraged to seek out feedback from all our DJSR coaches. We are all here to create a supportive and collaborative learning environment, helping our racers make significant strides in their racing abilities while enjoying our camp experience to the fullest. WAIVERS: If you completed both camp waivers, Thank You! If you completed the Big Snow waiver and did NOT receive a confirmation QR code, please resubmit the Big Snow form to obtain a QR Code. If you haven’t completed the waivers, all waivers are now due. Please complete them by the end of the day. EQUIPMENT: We will be slalom training all three days so be sure to tune and wax your slalom race skis in advance and remember to bring your boot bag with race boots, helmet with mounted chin guard, shin guards, pole guards, gloves, and goggles (clear goggles would be best). Train like a world-class racer and wear your favorite speed suit and training shorts. Just make sure you are properly dressed in layers for the cold 28-degree temperature on the snow. There are private changing rooms inside the Big Snow locker room. HEALTH & NUTRITION: Make the most of training days by going to bed early and getting a good night's sleep. Then wake up and fuel up with breakfast. Be sure to grab a complimentary water and nutrition bar as you enter the locker room. Bring along extra water and snacks as desired. RACER DROP OFF 8:30 AM: Plan on arriving at 8:20 am so that you have time to sign in and gear up for training. The mall will be closed when you arrive. All racers should be dropped off on Level 2 of Parking Lot A. You enter the parking lot on the ground level and will need to drive up 2 levels. Look for the side entrance to Big Snow on the Met Life Stadium side. Walk down the outside corridor and you will find the side entrance to the Big Snow locker room; Therese will be at the door to sign you in. Only racers and coaches are permitted into the Big Snow facility. PICKUP 12 Noon same location. Pickup and drop off will require an adult to sign in and sign out - NO EXCEPTIONS THURSDAY 12 NOON FAREWELL AWARDS CEREMONY Parents, Racers & Coaches - Meet Our Coaches & Receive a DJSR Gift Bag PARKING: American Dream offers convenient parking to all guests. The first hour of parking is free, and after that, it costs only $5 per vehicle (taxes included) for the duration of your visit. When you arrive at American Dream follow the directional signs to Big SNOW and the “A” Parking Deck for the nearest parking to Big SNOW.
